Government meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula. Meetings generally conducted on Mondays have been moved to Tuesday because of the Martin Luther King Jr., holiday.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will hear an update on the Towne Road project during their weekly work session Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, moved to 9 a.m. Tuesday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• An agreement with Port Angeles Healthy Youth Coalition to implement a nurse-family partnership with Jefferson County Public Health.

• An agreement with the state Military Department for a $42,094 emergency management preparedness grant.

• A purchase order for the second year of the a two-year service agreement for CrowdStrike and Falcon network and computing endpoint monitoring.

• Resolutions adopting several budget revisions and supplemental appropriations.

• Letter of support for NOAA grants to provide enhanced climate resilience to state Highway 112 and to develop a comprehensive plan to address climate change.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, regarding rescinding Clallam County Administrator

Contract Ordinance 963.

• An amended agreement with the state Developmental Disabilities Administration for an increase in 2024 funding of $647,432.

• An amended agreement with the state Department of Veterans Affairs for $102,180 to fund a veterans service officer through June 30, 2025.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a workshop regarding the shoreline master program when they meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Port of Port Townsend

The Short Farm Steering Committee will conduct a two-hour walking tour of the farm at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The tour will begin at the quarry on the farm located at 1594 Center Road, Chimacum.

The tour will include the quarry, the west loafing shed, Chimacum Creek Crossing and the main farm campus.

Jefferson PUD

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will hear a presentation on Port Hadlock sewer operations and maintenance from Samantha Harper at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

City staff is recommending that council authorize the city manager to submit a proposal to the North Olympic History Center for a formal due diligence review of multi-family redevelopment opportunities of the former Lincoln Elementary School building at 926 W. Eighth St.;$50,000 has been budgeted in the 2024-2029 capital facilities plan.

The council will also discuss 2024 legislative priorities, a cost/benefit analysis of city property ownership and 2024-2025 council assignments.
