EYE ON JEFFERSON: Port Townsend, Chimacum school boards review finalists

The Chimacum School Board will host a joint meeting with the Port Townsend School Board at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The boards will meet in executive session for 15 minutes to discuss the finalists in their joint superintendent search and may take action during the open session.

County commission

The three Jefferson County commissioners will open bids for the membrane bioreactor equipment for the Port Hadlock wastewater treatment when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

Commissioners will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 from Dr. Tom Locke, discuss cost-sharing with low-income property owners to repair or replace failing onsite sewage systems and hear a status report about the old road maintenance shop in Quilcene.

Items on the consent agenda include continuing relationship with the Washington Counties Risk Pool, two lodging tax grants, a fairground meal service grant, caretaker agreement with the Jefferson County Sportsmen’s Association and a variety of agreements and memoranda of understanding regarding public health issues.

The commissioners also will conduct a retreat during a special session at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will discuss a grant for the recycling center during a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
