AGNEW — A driver fled after colliding with a fence off U.S. Highway 101 at 6:40 a.m. Monday, leaving a passenger who was later taken to a hospital.
Raymond A. Getchell, 36, of Port Orchard was taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, troopers said. He was not listed on the patient census later that afternoon.
The driver, Kelly R. Smith, 50, of Suquamish, left the scene after the wreck, said the State Patrol, so his injuries, if any, were unknown.
Troopers said that Kelly was driving westbound on Highway 101 when his Ford Ranger pickup left the road near Lewis Road and hit a fence.
The passenger was not wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol said.
The pickup had reportable damage, troopers said.
