PORT ANGELES — A watered-down resolution supporting civil rights and civil liberties is expected to be adopted by the Clallam County commissioners today instead of wording against the controversial USA Patriot Act.
The resolution goes before the commissioners at their 10 a.m. action meeting in Room 160 of Clallam County courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St.
While county commissioners’ chairman Steve Tharinger, D-Dungeness, said the proposed resolution’s wording was “quite heavily” modeled after that adopted by Jefferson County commissioners, county Chief Deputy Prosecutor Chris Melly on Monday urged the commissioners to reconsider certain language in the draft of the resolution.
