PORT ANGELES –Clallam County’s proposed $61.6 million 2004 budget is set for adoption today and includes $75,000 for animal control.
The 2004 budget season passed with less controversy than had been seen in recent years when positions cutbacks and elimination of services were required to balance the revenues and expenses.
The budget includes a $25.2 million general fund, and the county commissioners are expected to adopt it at their 10 a.m. meeting today in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St.
The commissioners have conducted budget hearings in Forks, Port Angeles and Sequim, receiving little public comment.
