PORT ANGELES — Citing safety concerns, the city of Port Angeles has closed the viewing tower at City Pier.
Early reports from an inspection conducted by Sargent Engineers on Nov. 8-9 indicate structural failures that pose a serious risk to public safety and to the safety of surrounding property, according to a city press release.
The area was fenced off Tuesday and will remain closed until the city receives the final report and implements necessary repairs, staffers said.
