People line the dock at the Northwest Maritime Center to greet the Polynesian Voyaging Canoe, Hōkūleʻa, as it prepares to dock in Port Townsend after it was towed from Tacoma early Tuesday.
The Hawaii-based Hōkūleʻa began its journey in Juneau, Alaska, and will visit 36 countries and nearly 100 indigenous territories before reaching its final destination in Japan.
