Brinnon: Another fatality on Highway 101

BRINNON — A Centralia man was killed on U.S. Highway 101 late Sunday afternoon, and high speed is believed to be a factor in the one-vehicle crash.

Kenneth David Blosl, 54, died at the scene about six miles south of Brinnon, the State Patrol said Sunday night.

It was the North Olympic Peninsula’s 10th car crash fatality since Christmas Day, and the seventh this year in what the State Patrol and other emergency services officials are calling one of the worst series of deadly crashes ever.

Sunday’s crash occurred about 4:45 p.m. between Canal View Street and the McDonald Creek bridge, the state Department of Transportation reported.

The crash closed the highway, and traffic backed up at least a mile in each direction.
