SEQUIM — The man killed by the alleged killer of a Forest Service officer on Saturday was identified late Sunday afternoon.
Richard Ziegler, 59, was a retired employee of a corrections agency in California who had just moved up to the North Olympic Peninsula in May, authorities said today. Exactly which agency — whether state or county — was unclear Sunday night.
Ziegler was living in a fifth-wheel trailer while having a house built in the hills above Sequim Bay State Park.
A full report appears in Monday’s editions of the Peninsula Daily News.
