FORKS – On Bella’s birthday, fans talked of her future.
About two dozen fans, some from out of town, of the Twilight vampire novel and sequels by Stephenie Meyer gathered in Forks on Thursday for a day-long celebration of the books set in the town and of the birthday of Isabella Swan.
In the books, Bella, the main character, has moved to Forks where her father is the police chief.
She is a mortal girl with a vampire boyfriend named Edward Cullen – and most recently a werewolf love interest named Jacob Black.
Fans chatted about possible story lines in future novels in the series and argued the merits of Bella’s two beaus.
A birthday cake decorated with a depiction of the cover of Twilight and the words, “We love you Bella, Edward and Jacob,” was sliced and served at the Forks Library at the end of the celebration by an entrant in the Bella look-a-like contest, Mikel Birindelli, 18, of McCleary.
Forks Police Chief Mike Powell served peanut butter sandwiches at noon as he performed the role of Bella’s father, Charlie Swan.
