ARPA funds for waterfront center, facilities planning before county boards

Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula listed

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement with the Port Angeles Waterfront Center, which includes the Field Arts & Events Hall, for $300,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds, on a reimbursement basis, for eligible costs in their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

All Clallam County public meetings on Monday and Tuesday will be conducted virtually only while the commissioners’ board room upgrade is being completed.

• A variety of budget items for consideration on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

• A personal services agreement with Amanda Sanders to serve as the coordinator for Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative Prevention Services.

• An amended agreement with Norpoint Protective Services for $81,675 to provide security services for the Juvenile Services Family Courtroom.

• A personal services contract with Dale Jackson for up to $85,000 for project management for the planning stage of the joint public safety facility.

• An amended agreement with OAC Services for up to $20,000 to conduct a limited Phase II environments site assessment of the Edgewood Drive property under consideration for the joint public safety facility.

• A presentation from the Emergency Management Division of the sheriff’s office regarding the Fairchild International Airport microgrid feasibility study.

• Consider a letter of support for a Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant application being prepared jointly by the Peninsula Trails Coalition, the North Kitsap Trails Association and the Bainbridge Island Parks and Trails Foundation.

• A request from the Department of Community Development to add a full-time code enforcement officer.

• Opening of proposals for 2023 Architecture/Engineering Consulting Services.

• Public hearings at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday regarding Policy 220 Classification, Work Hours, and Compensation and Policy 225 Employee Benefits.

The Hood Canal Coordinating Council is a watershed-based council of governments consisting of Jefferson, Kitsap and Mason Counties and the Port Gamble S’Klallam and Skokomish tribes, it was established in 1985 to address concerns about water quality issues.

Cemetery commission

The Gardiner Community Cemetery commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday.
