PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Fair, which opened Thursday, continues today and through Sunday with a continuous stream of entertainment.
Gravity-defying acts will be performed at the motocross stunt demonstration tonight — with a non-motorized addition.
Shari Ioffrida, interim fair manager, said a BMX stunt team will show off aerial feats along with the motocross riders from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Grandstand Stage.
The fair is located at 1608 W. 16th Street and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow.
On closing day, Sunday, the fair is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Ticket prices are $4.50 for children, 6 years old to 12 years old, and $7.50 for adults.
Ioffrida said the fair hosted a monster truck team at last year’s motocross competition, but it won’t be back this year.
“We wanted to have something new,” she said.
“We wanted to change it up.”
Returning to the Grandstand this year is a demolition derby at 5 p.m. on Sunday, a logging show at noon on Saturday, and a rodeo at 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.
On Thursday morning, 13 baton-twirling children performed on the Wilder Auto Community Stage.
The children, 5 years old to 11 years old, are part of the Port Angeles Baton team and entertained the fair’s early arrivals in solo and double routines.
“I just love to twirl,” said Katie Bowes, 11, who did a solo routine to the theme song of “The Monkeys” TV show from the 1970s.
“It’s fun and gives me a great exercise.”
