SEQUIM — Eva Fridell says her secret to longevity is being herself and not always taking the advice of others.
She ought to know.
Mrs. Fridell celebrated her 110th birthday Tuesday with flowers, a raspberry tort and a small party with immediate family members.
“There really is no secret to my long life,” she said while smoothing out her mint green sweater.
“I have a long-living family, and have always just been myself.”
Mrs. Fridell is believed to be the oldest person in the state and among the oldest in the nation.
When asked if she thought she would live so long, she said: “No, but I don’t mind.”
