SEQUIM — The Sequim City Council may air its business on public access television.
If the council approves the proposal, meetings would be televised on a tape-delayed basis on cable Channel 21.
The city of Port Angeles provides public service announcements and taped government agency programs on its public access channel but doesn’t televise meetings.
Port Townsend City Council meetings are the most watched show on the extensive lineup offered by that city’s Channel 42, City Clerk Pam Kolacy said.
But Sequim Mayor Walt Schubert said Council members might grandstand to the camera.
Councilman Paul McHugh also said some citizens might shy away from making comments public comments.
The council expects to make a decision before the end of June.
