Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship offers free classes

PORT TOWNSEND — Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will offer free Adult Learning Programs from Monday to June 9.

Offerings are designed to meet a variety of interests ranging from one-day workshops, lectures and field trips to weekly courses exploring personal belief systems, academic subjects, creativity, lifestyle challenges and choices, and physical activity.

Some examples of one-day offerings are a workshop on how to lose body fat, evening lectures and discussions on algae as possible biofuels, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders and medical marijuana, and a daylong birding trip to the Skagit Valley.

Weekly courses include developing a personal cosmology, a study of the Great Depression through stories, filmmaking, the concept and practice of compassionate listening in times of conflict, collage art and international folk dance.

Course brochures are available at QUUF, the Port Townsend and Jefferson County libraries, and the Port Townsend Community Center, and can be downloaded at www.quuf.org under “Adult Programs.”

Scholarships are available to help defray costs of books, materials and travel.

Child care is available on request for programs during after-school hours. Enroll online with SignUpGenius at http://tinyurl.com/ALPs2017Spring.
