It’s very sad that there are good Republicans who secretly repudiate the direction the Republican party is moving but are afraid to speak up for fear of losing their jobs.
This very selfish position joins them by the hip with the group of election-denying, MAGA, stop the steal conspiracy theorists and erodes their credibility as true conservatives with normal Republican values.
It’s like they have taken their hoods off and we can see who they really are.
Our state, with a Democratic majority in the House and Senate, has taken steps to protect a women’s right to choose, to pass common sense laws regulating firearms, and to protect the LGBTQ+ communities constitutional rights.
However, Democratic majorities are not that large in Olympia which puts these accomplishments at risk here also.
Republicans around the country are doing everything they can to weaken these laws and rights in Republican-led states.
Why would they act any differently here if we were to elect more Republicans to our state government?
I can almost guarantee you that if any Republicans get elected to office here they will start plotting strategies to erode these laws and rights.
So why would you ever vote for a Republican in Washington state?
Why are these people trying to destroy our democracy?
I’ll tell you why, it’s all about power and money.
The current office holders seem to be doing a pretty good job.
Yes there are problems, but I don’t see any of the challengers offering any credible solutions.
