LETTER:Water supply

The county and local governments are approving additional homes but very little is being done to address our limited potable water supply.

All our water depends on rain and snow melt.

Adding distribution pipes and deeper wells does not change that.

There has been a reference to building a diversion reservoir to capture excess spring water for summer use.

We need the water before we have the flood of new users.

The river is also critical to the salmon which are important to the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.

Is it possible the county and the S’Klallam could cooperate in creating the water reserves that will be needed before a crisis develops>

The tribe has an excellent record of getting their projects completed.
