When you go to Fort Worden by car you have to pay $10, or maybe you have a statewide pass for which you paid $30 for entrance to all Washington state parks.
There is a way to enter Fort Worden for free and that is by taking the Jefferson Transit bus.
If you have not ridden our local bus, the terminal is across the road from Safeway.
Often the Park & Ride seems deserted but it is very busy on the hour and the half hour.
The Fort Worden bus is the #2 and it leaves the Park & Ride on the hour.
Ten minutes later it enters the park, There is just one stop in Fort Worden, when the bus enters the park pull the cord so the driver knows to stop at the flag pole opposite Peninsula College.

Make sure to be back at the place you got off by a quarter after the hour in order to return to the Park & Ride.
