LETTER:Forde and EV

You’ve probably heard that house Democrats, including Mike Chapman and Steve Tharinger, fearing global warming, approved SB 5974 banning gas-powered passenger and light duty vehicles sales in 2030.

Democrats rejected Republicans’ 28 proposed amendments to make this bill less stringent.

If you think an electric vehicle (EV) is unaffordable, impractical, inefficient, undesirable, etc. and will need a new vehicle in the future, you’ll need to buy before 2030 or purchase and register it in another state.

In 2021, planning for costly EV mandates, all but three Democrats approved HB 1287 mandating electric vehicle charging stations in all new residential buildings with on-site parking by 2024.

Do you want an EV or an EV charging station?

Homeguide.com estimates a Level 2 charger and labor for electric car charging stations average $750 to $26,000.

Home charging stations cost $350 to $900 alone, $400 to $1,700 to install; plus a $400 Tesla Wall Connector.

So far, 31,487 American scientists, including 9029 PhDs, reject anthropogenic global warming.

Before voting on SB 5974 and HB 1287, Sue Forde, campaigning against Mike Chapman, would have asked:

Is anthropogenic global warming fact or fiction?

Will this legislation improve our lives?

What will the long-term consequences be?

Will EV technology be available, nationwide, to accommodate these mandates?

How will these bills affect new car dealerships, new home costs and used vehicles prices?

Sue advocates cost-cutting legislation, common-sense, affordable environmental policies and freedom of choice.

Elect Sue.
