LETTER:Disliked call

Message to the Washington State GOP: You want to get Republican Dave Reichert elected governor? Then you’ll need the votes of people in the center like me and you aren’t going to get them by calling us out of the blue, treating us to loud pro-Trump and anti-abortion rants and refusing to listen to us explain how we might be persuaded to vote for Reichert.

On the day Reichert announced his campaign, I was on the receiving end of an utterly disagreeable phone call from someone claiming to be from the Washington State GOP.

I adamantly oppose Trump and MAGA but also don’t like the far left now running Washington state government.

I currently vote Democrat in Clallam County races and favor Democrat Attorney General Bob Ferguson for governor.

Nevertheless I would consider voting for Reichert because he refused to support Trump and might serve as a barrier to the far left in this state.

But Reichert is anti-abortion so, GOP, you are going to have to convince me.

Instead, I get hammered by a GOP contact who shouted over me, insisted on wasting my time and his by arguing for Trump and against reproductive rights and never listened to my ideas on how to get support for Reichert from the political center.

Message to Dave Reichert: with friends like this, you don’t need enemies.

I promise you, you will not get support from voters like me if you don’t reign in some of your more obnoxious friends.
