LETTER:Climate plan

The Climate Resilience Plan the City of Port Angeles has been working on since 2018 is finally coming to fruition.

The Port Angeles Planning Commission and City Council are reviewing the draft plan created by Cascadia Consulting with the assistance of the Climate Action Planning Group, members listed on page 2 of the plan.

The Planning Commission reviewed the draft on May 11 and 25 , see agenda packets for those meetings.

Further review by the commission may continue into June, Port Angeles Meetings and Agendas web page for June.

The city council did its first review on Tuesday, June 7, during the regular council meeting, agenda available with the draft plan at the city’s Meeting and Agendas web page.

The draft will be on the council agenda again for the June 21 regular council meeting.

The meeting may be Port Angeles citizens’ last opportunity for public input.

Thus, if you are interested, mark your calendar and attend the meeting virtually; details for how to do so are on the agenda.

There will be public comment periods at the beginning and end of the council meetings.
