LETTER: Will support Adkisson for Clallam hospital board

Why would someone run for public office if they don’t want constituents to contact them with questions?

I wondered this when I read that Anne Marie Henninger, who is running for the Clallam hospital board, took a constituent to court saying she was harassed by two phone calls regarding discrepancies in her publicly reported address.

The court decided it was not harassment and within the constituent’s first amendment right.

Henninger’s information about her employment is also not clear; she didn’t identify her employer in the primary election Voter Guide as the other candidates did. She listed her employment as registered nurse.

Her employer, Obria, an anti-abortion faith-based medical chain that also does not provide hormonal contraception, was not mentioned.

Candidates running for office should be open to questions from the public.

They need to be clear both about their residency as well as their beliefs which can affect the position for which they are running.

I’m voting for Nate Adkisson.

He has been transparent about his qualifications and his intentions as a candidate for the hospital board.
