LETTER: Why is the PDN printing 30-year-old Doonesbury cartoons?

I will start off by letting you know how much I enjoy reading the Peninsula Daily News each morning with my coffee.

I congratulate you on including articles and columns from both the political left and right.

It’s so refreshing these days.

However, I must share with you one of my pet peeves.

For the most part, the PDN’s selection of daily cartoons provides me with some much-needed humor during these troubled times.

However, for the life of me, I do not understand why the PDN feels the need to print nearly 30-year-old Doonesbury cartoons.

I have tried to find humor in them, but they leave me almost irritated that I am subjected to them.

I will confess I also do not care for current Doonesbury cartoons.

However, at least they are somewhat relevant to current affairs.

John Spencer,

Port Townsend
