LETTER: Trump is still a bully

All U.S. intelligence agencies are unanimous that the Russians hacked our Nov. 8 election.

Donald Trump himself covertly collaborated by loudly and repeatedly attacking Hillary Clinton on the email scandal trumped up by Russian President Vladimir Putin, a dirty trick reminiscent of CIA worldwide meddling in decades past.

Trump won the Electoral College but lost the popular vote by 2.65 million votes.

He snarls that those millions of votes against him were cast “illegally.”

He offers not an iota of proof for this bizarre allegation.

Trump adds fuel to the fire by announcing that Exxon-Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson is his choice for secretary of state.

TV news shows Tillerson shaking hands, warmly, with Putin, who bestowed a medal on the Exxon-Mobil chief for his friendship with Russia’s oil billionaires.

Trump will be sworn in next month.

With full support from Republican House and Senate leaders, Trump will unleash an assault on every gain we have won in the past century: Obamacare, Medicare, Social Security, environmental protection, clean air and water, public education, union bargaining rights.

The only force that can block them is grassroots action like the Standing Rock Sioux protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline, the Black Lives Matter movement, the $15-an-hour minimum wage campaign and our nation’s labor movement.

I looked for modesty, one gesture that looked presidential.

Trump is still a strutting bully.

We will miss President Obama and First Lady Obama.

They have served us well and modestly.
