LETTER: Thinks QAnon supporters should be designated on the ballot

From Sequim

“QAnon followers believe that a cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles running a global child sex-trafficking ring is plotting against President Donald Trump, who is battling them, leading to a ‘day of reckoning’ involving the mass arrest of journalists and politicians.” — Wikipedia

Purported members of this cabal include Tom Hanks, Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, an assortment of prominent Democrats and, of course, the favorite bad guy of the far right, George Soros.

This theory suddenly appeared online in 2017, posted by an anonymous individual.

Nothing shady about any of that, right?

While QAnoners believe very passionately in this theory, nothing they believe is congruent with long-held American values.

In fact, I suspect that the operative in the Russian cyber propaganda unit working for V. Putin and responsible for getting this out into cyberspace is ecstatic, if astonished, at the results of his work.

I think that the idea that this QAnon theory is Russian fake news is as plausible, if not more so, than the hypothesis involving Satanic cannibalistic pedophiles comprising only those individuals who supposedly oppose the President.

But this is still our America, where people can still believe what they want to believe, such as the Earth is flat, or the Apollo moon landing really took place on a Hollywood set.

However, I propose that, to show the courage of their convictions, any QAnon adherent who runs for political office should use a (Q) after their name on the ballot.

Voters need to receive full disclosure about the individuals asking for their vote.
