LETTER: Supportive community

Masks, distancing, hand washing, avoiding unnecessary travel — all are important measures to protect the many at risk from this pandemic.

I am impressed that local businesses have carefully put these measures in place and are working hard to maintain the many services, options, and conveniences we have long enjoyed.

They’ve made ordering, pick-ups, take-outs and deliveries easier than ever, while striving to maintain employment and participate in charitable giving.

Pandemic circumstances certainly deserve careful responses.

As we take measures to protect each other, let’s also take measures to support our local businesses and organizations that play such an important role in the well being of our community.

Dollars we give now, hours we volunteer, and items and services we buy locally make a big difference to support the overall health of our community through this unique time.

Three cheers and thanks to those who are giving and buying locally to support our community in response to this pandemic.
