LETTER: Reader supports Heidi Eisenhour for Jefferson County commissioner

Heidi Eisenhour has demonstrated leadership skills throughout the 15 years I have known her.

We met during the early stages of the Northwest Maritime Center when everyone rolled up their sleeves to raise money to get the buildings underway.

Heidi demonstrated then that she could successfully work with a team.

She was the first to make sure everyone on the team got credit for their part in a victory.

That’s leadership.

Later in Heidi’s career, she again demonstrated leadership at the Jefferson Land Trust by cultivating the capacity in the board and staff to make dreams come true.

She nurtured a strong, talented and committed group to advance, saving farmland in the Chimacum Valley.

As a Chimacum resident, I reap the benefits of that work every day.

Again, relationships fueled the teams’ shared success.

Even now, as the maritime center pivots in economic uncertainty to viable and sustainable programming, Heidi is a pillar on the leadership team, rolling up her sleeves to get things done.

Heidi doesn’t shy away from tough issues.

She is committed to ensuring an important asset like the maritime center continues to thrive even as we reimagine how we live, work and play.

We all benefit from that kind of leadership.

Leadership is about being authentic, about listening and sharing the spotlight with others.

Heidi is the real deal, she listens to diverse points-of-view and willingly shares the limelight.

That’s why I invite you to join me in voting for Heidi Eisenhour for Jefferson County commissioner in District 2.
