LETTER: No sympathy

Please don’t make me feel sorry for Mason James Coppage.

From the moment I began to read your article (Admitted stalker sentenced to prison, published March 6), the hairs were standing up on the back of my neck.

Eleven charges, including threatening her family, hiding in her daughter’s room, repeated anti-harassment and protection orders.

I’m interested in hearing anything about this guy?

Thanks for highlighting his prepared statement where he pats himself on the back for being a varsity football player and achieving a 3.7 GPA, and his brief stint in the Marines.

Are you trying to emote some sort of compassion for this stalker?

The perpetrator then has the audacity to say the victim “pushed him over the edge,” and blames “faulty wiring” for his mental state.

He had been a model inmate, said his attorney Stan Myers.

To say I’m disappointed in Judge Erickson would be an understatement.

Mason Coppage “never meant to hurt anybody,” yet he hid in this victim’s daughter’s bedroom.

“It sounds like you got out of control” from the judge?

You better believe he did.

He’s a criminal and I don’t feel sorry for him.

I fear for the victim and her daughter.
