LETTER: Make America great again? Not with Trump in office

The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties estimates that President Donald Trump’s proposal for a 20 percent tariff on imported Canadian lumber will add as much as $7,000 to the cost of a new house, according to a recent report on KING-TV.

The National Association of Home Builders also estimates that the Trump tariff will cost $498.3 million in lost wages, $350.2 million in lost tax revenues and will destroy 8,241 full-time jobs in the United States.

The impact here on the North Olympic Peninsula would be disastrous.

This tariff is just one of Trump’s insane proposals during his first 100 days.

“Trumpcare” was so radioactive, Republicans did not bring it to a floor vote.

A second attempt to repeal Obamacare was recently pulled from the House floor again, with no roll call.

He has broken his promise to pull out of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

A federal judge ruled unconstitutional Trump’s plan to strip “sanctuary cities” of federal funding.

And U.S. District Judge James Robart’s ruling that blocks Trump’s ban on Muslims entering the U.S. still stands.

Thank Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and Attorney General Bob Ferguson for that human rights victory.

Trump’s erstwhile former national security adviser, Gen. Michael T. Flynn, has been questioned by the FBI for accepting Russian rubles.

How long before Flynn implicates Trump?

Trump may think war with North Korea will end the bad news.

We need to stop a war before it starts.

Make America great again?

We can start by taking Trump’s finger off the nuclear trigger.
