LETTER: Keep raising questions, voices about racial attack in Port Angeles

Thank you for putting the July 17 hate-motivated attack in Port Angeles back in the public eye [“Still Wary After Racial Attack In PA; Four Months Later, Police Continue To Investigate,” PDN, Nov. 30].

I have been concerned that the authorities and the press do not seem to have taken it more seriously.

That a group of ignorant people can feel free to inflict violence and fear on a lone individual, and seem to get away with it, sends a poor message about what we as a community find to be right and acceptable.

That the FBI had not even interviewed the victim as of the writing of your article, months after the incident, was alarming as well.

I hope you will continue to press for information about the progress of this case, as it seems unclear whether there was much activity until questions were raised.

I hope I am wrong,

Susan Kowitz,

Sequim
