LETTER: Is it asking too much that are tax dollars go to repairing state Highway 112?

The fall of 2015 and the winter of 2016 were not too kind to state Highway 112.

There were many new potholes, sunken areas and buckling.

We on the West End assumed these would be taken care of in the summer of 2016.

Here it is, the spring of 2017, and no repair work has been done.

The 9 percent grade about 30 miles east of Neah Bay had areas of buckling where the blacktop was removed and gravel applied.

One small area was eventually repaved, but the larger of the two has remained graveled.

As with graveled roads, potholes occur regularly and are hard on vehicles.

In the past, some repair work added more bumps to contend with.

Also, getting on and off the Hoko River bridge is like hitting two speed bumps.

The cost of renewing licensing tabs has made another big jump.

Drivers should assume that we can expect to see our tax dollars at work in the form of better roads.

Is that asking too much?
