LETTER: Gas prices

Feeling pain at the pump?

In part, you can thank the Climate Commitment Act passed by the House and Senate and signed by Gov. Jay Inslee during the 2021-22 session.

As Senate Bill 5126, it was voted for by Reps. Mike Chapman and Steve Tharinger.

Sen. Kevin Van De Wege voted against this terrible bill.

Thank you Mr. Van de Wege for being one of four Democrats in the bipartisan efforts against this bill.

I am sorry to see him step down from the Senate.

Mr. Chapman would like to take his place.

Democrat for Democrat, right?

Wrong.

Mike Chapman was on the wrong side of this bill.

Working against the people of the state.

You say you have an electric car, so this doesn’t affect you?

Trust me, you’re next.

When we tear out some dams, and everyone has electric cars, what do you think will happen to everyone’s electric bill?

This Climate Commitment Act hurt Washington state.

We now have the highest gas prices in the nation.

Thank you Reps. Chapman and Tharinger for your part in this boondoggle.
