LETTER: EMT’s compassionate care saved my life

On Nov. 28, my husband called 9-1-1 for assistance.

I had fallen and could not get up.

The emergency medical technicians arrived and checked me out.

The EMT in charge stated I needed to go to the emergency room, and I objected.

He said he was not leaving without me and sat down on the floor in front of me.

I gave in and went to the Olympic Medical Center emergency room, where they found my temperature was 103.9.

Because he cared what happened to me, I survived sepsis.

I am sorry I do not know your name, but you will always have my heartfelt gratitude.

I have been told you probably saved my life.

Bev Northington,

Sequim
