Climate science

Another climate science-denying diatribe by Cal Thomas in the Aug. 12 PDN.

His execration appears two days after release of a 3,000-plus-page report from 234 climate scientists warning about present and future climate change impacts.

Did Thomas read the report?

He doesn’t say.

Thomas maligns Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and John Kerry for having “zero scientific knowledge or credentials.”

How does he know this?

He doesn’t say.

Does Thomas have any scientific knowledge or credentials?

He doesn’t say.

Thomas disparages many years of climate science knowledge and analysis by scientists as a cult and concludes, “We might as well base our life decisions on horoscopes, psychics and fortune cookies.”

Is this how Thomas bases his life?

No, Thomas bases his life on the money he gets from spreading his baseless excrement on Fox TV and print. His only information source is Marc Morano.

Marc Morano has a bachelor of arts degree in political science from George Mason University.

He began his career working for Rush Limbaugh.

Morano served as director of communications for Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe, a notorious climate science denier.

Morano also served as a communications director in the George W. Bush administration.

Morano founded and became executive editor of ClimateDepot.com, a website sponsored by the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow, a nonprofit in Washington, D.C., which has accepted money from ExxonMobil and the late billionaire Richard Mellon Scaife, a longtime financier of conservative causes.

It’s all on the internet.

Check it out.
