LETTER: Bad bills

I cannot believe the arrogance of elected officials in Olympia. They feel they are absolutely smarter and know what’s best for our children.

Senate Bill 5181, check it out. I was extremely disappointed that Sen. Mike Chapman, D-Port Angeles, voted for this garbage. I always respected him.

A few other bills put forward by these elites are House Bill 1504, requiring $25,000 liability insurance on each gun you own. A direct assault on Second Amendment rights. Yeah, no.

And last but not least, House Bill 1921, which taxes your car by the miles you drive. Due at registration renewal.

If you drive 80 miles a day, it can work out to more than $500. Not including vacation or other errands.

OK, I get it. Go after the electric cars and leave us guzzlers with our gas tax. Not both.

Stop voting for these dingbats just because your granddaddy and dad was a Republican or a Democrat. Vote for common sense.

Call them and make your voices heard. I urge you. Let’s pester them till they get the message.
