The Bunker to host final session before summer break

PORT TOWNSEND — The Bunker, a free teen art studio hosted by Northwind Art School, will host its last session before taking a summer hiatus.

Teens — middle and high school students — can participate in the Bunker from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Northwind Art School in Building 324 at Fort Worden State Park.

Professional artists volunteer to host the program, giving demonstrations and supporting teens as they work on art projects. PT Artscape and local donors partner with the nonprofit Northwind Art to provide snacks and art supplies.

Parent permission is required for youngsters to attend; forms are at www.northwindart.org under Take a Class, then Youth, then The Bunker.

Meantime, Northwind Art School will offer many summer day camps and classes for teens, with details at NorthwindArt.org. Scholarships are available for the art courses and camps.

For more information, contact Northwind Education Director Kate Lovejoy at education@northwind art.org or communications manager Diane Urbani at communications@north windart.org.
