SEQUIM — Carol Swarbrick Dries, the movie and stage actor who makes her home in Sequim, is appearing in “Lillian Carter: More than a President’s Mother,” an hour-long docudrama in the online Seattle Film Festival today and Saturday.

She invites people interested in American history, humanitarian work and family relationships to watch the movie — at no charge — via https://vimeo.com/seattlefilmfestival.

“We’re very excited to be so close to home,” Swarbrick Dries said of the festival. Her film was made in 2019 in the Carter family’s hometown of Plains, Ga., and includes interviews with former President Jimmy Carter, 96, and former first lady Rosalynn Carter, 93. Journalist Sam Donaldson, 87, also appears, as do the late Tommy Lasorda and other friends of Miss Lillian, as she was known.

“Lillian” has been picked up by distributor 1091 Pictures, which specializes in independent film.

Netflix and AppleTV are among its partners; the distributor plans to release the movie Sept. 28 on streaming platforms.
