A scholarship auction and Forever Twilight festival in Forks, a Soroptimist garden gala in Sequim, a gem and mineral show in Port Angeles and community garage sale in Port Townsend are among this weekend’s highlights.
• The 60th annual Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Forks High School, 261 Spartan Ave.
The Forks High School Class of 2024 will host the auction, which includes a variety of items including gift certificates, hand-made goods and pies.
• Forever Twilight in Forks Equinox will begin today and extend through Sunday.
The annual festival marking the midpoint between Forever Twilight festivals is returning for its second year.
The festival also coincides with the two-day Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction at Forks High School, 261 Spartan Ave.
• Soroptimist Gala Garden Show will celebrate 2½ decades of assisting local gardeners and present a bevy of community groups from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sequim unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula, 400 W. Fir St.
Proceeds from the 25th annual Soroptimist Gala Garden Show will go to local organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs, Sequim Food Bank and Healthy Families of Clallam County, among others.
Karen Chapman, who owns Le Jardinet near Seattle, is the featured speaker.
• Jefferson County Fair’s annual Community Garage Sale is Saturday.
Admission is free to the sale at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 4907 Landes St., Port Townsend, when it opens to the general public at 9 a.m. Early VIP entry is assured at 8:15 a.m. for $10.
The sale will continue until 4 p.m.
• The annual Gem and Mineral Show by the Clallam County Gem and Mineral Association will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.
The free show features two dozen vendors selling crystals, rocks, minerals, fossils, beads, faceted gemstones, jewelry and lapidary tools. Live demonstrations on polishing cabochons and faceting gemstones are planned, as well as a raffle.
Rock Alley returns as well as other games and activities for kids.
• The Port Townsend Rock Club will host a sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 4907 Landes St.
The sale is in conjunction with the Jefferson County Fair’s Community Garage Sale.
• “Steel Magnolias” continues this weekend with performances at 7 tonight and Saturday and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim.
The play runs through March 24.

• “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” enacted by OCEAN (Opportunity, Community, Experience, Academics, Navigation) K-12’s students will continue at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Erikson building of the Jefferson County Fairgrounds at 4907 Landes St. in Port Townsend.
More shows are planned at 7 p.m. March 22, 4 p.m. March 23 and 2 p.m. March 24.

• Volar Flamenco en Vivo will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Eaglemount Winery, 1893 S. Jacob Miller Road, Port Townsend, and at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Gardiner Community Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road.

• The Alternators will perform from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Port Townsend Brewing Company, 330 10th St., Port Townsend. No cover charge.
• The Port Townsend Branch of the American Association of University Women will hear Lori Tschohl at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elks Lodge No. 317, 555 Otto St.
Tschohl, owner of Eagle Pipe Heating and Air, will speak on current opportunities, trends and training for women in trade careers which, historically, have only been occupied by men.
• Port Townsend Kiwanis will host a volunteer work party followed by a community celebration of its 75th anniversary from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The Kiwanis will work at the Blue Heron Middle School and the OCEAN School campuses at 3939 San Juan Ave. to help create a welcoming garden and make other improvements. The school will provide lunch for volunteers.
A celebration of Kiwanis’ 75 years will begin at 2 p.m.

• Book sale by the Friends of the Port Townsend Library will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St.
Adults’ books are $2 and children’s books are $1; from 1 p.m. until closing, a bag of books is $5.
Proceeds from the sale support programs at the Port Townsend Public Library.
• Strait Turners wood-turning club members will meet at noon Saturday for a presentation of different ways to color wood.
The club will meet at the Gardiner Community Center, 980 Old Gardiner Road.
• “Collection Connection” will be presented by the curation specialist from the Jefferson Museum of Art and History from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Humphrey Room at the Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave.
Attendees will explore some examples of collections from the museum and from the library, then take on the role of curator by documenting a collection of their own.
• Community dance is planned at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St., Port Townsend.
Dave Thielk will call traditional Appalachian squares, reels, circles and mixers. Music will be provided by Bobbi Nikles and the Canote Twins with Jack Dwyer.
Admission is $10 per person, $20 for a family.
• 13th Plant and Seed Exchange will be hosted by Shy Acre and Friends of the Trees Botanicals from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Shy Acre Farms, 363 Discovery Road, Port Townsend.
Seed savers and gardeners can bring extra seeds, plant starts, bulbs, plant divisions or ornamental or edible plants that need a new home.
