Rachel Sumner and Traveling Light to play at Palindrome

PORT TOWNSEND — The Rachel Sumner and Traveling Light will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The concert will be in the Palindrome at Eaglemount Cidery, 1893 S. Jacob Miller Road in Port Townsend.

Tickets are $20 at https://rainshadowtickets.com or $25 at the door.

Sumner started her career on the bluegrass circuit with the genre-bending roots group Twisted Pine, and she earned the 2021 John Lennon Award in the folk category for her song “Radium Girls (Curie Eleison).”

Singer-songwriter Sumner will be joined by bandmates Kat Wallace on fiddle and Michael Siegel on upright bass.

The band released its debut eponymous album in 2022 and won first-place honors at the 2023 Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival band competition in Brunswick, Maine.
