SEQUIM — Inspiration/Exploration, a juried exhibit organized by the Washington State Region of Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. is on view at Sequim Museum & Arts.
The exhibit is up at the museum at 544 N. Sequim Ave. through March before traveling to other venues around the state for the next three years. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
The exhibit has 41 quilts and four three-dimensional pieces, representing 26 artists.
In her juror statement, Sheila Frampton Cooper cited the diversity of theme interpretations as a highlight of the exhibit.
For the show, members of the group were asked to identify the inspirational qualities of the state and explore that in their artwork.
Cooper is an artist, teacher and studio art quilter who has lived in California and France.
She has won awards in major exhibits throughout the United States.
SAQA, www.saqa.com, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to make the art quilt universally recognized as a fine art medium.
