Kate McDermott to host virtual cooking class

PORT ANGELES — Kate McDermott will present an hour-long baking session at 1 p.m. Saturday.

McDermott’s follow-along presentation will stream on the Zoom internet meeting platform.

Participants will learn how to make and shape pastry dough and use different fillings for mini hand pies and cinnamon sugar tasties in their own kitchens.

The presentation, hosted by the North Olympic Library System, is limited to 100 participants.

McDermott is a the author of “Art of the Pie: A Practical Guide to Homemade Crusts, Fillings, and Life,” “Home Cooking with Kate McDermott” and “Pie Camp: The Skills You Need to Make Any Pie You Want.”
