Garden lecture series kicks off with photographer

PORT TOWNSEND — The 2017 Yard and Garden Lecture Series will begin with a presentation by Mark Turner on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Port Townsend Community Center.

This will be the first presentation in a six-week series that will occur every Saturday morning until Feb. 13 at the Center, 620 Tyler St.

Tickets for the six-lecture series are $50, while $12 single tickets will be available at the door if space is available.

Attendees are urged to buy tickets in advance and be seated early.

Turner’s presentation is titled “37 Native Gems for Northwest Gardens” and will feature his photography as he speaks about native plant species that could fit local personal landscapes.

Turner is the owner of Turner Photographics and has been a professional photographer since 1993, specializing in gardens and native plants for books, magazines and commercial clients.
