Elks Lodge dance to feature Jean Therapy West

SEQUIM — The Sequim Elks will present Jean Therapy West for its Swing Dance Night from 6 to 8:30 tonight at the lodge, 143 Port Williams Road.

Tickets are $10 at the door.

New Olympic Peninsula resident and jazz vocalist Jean Lenke recently moved here from Philadelphia and has hit the ground running with the new Jean Therapy West Jazz Band.

Musicians will include George Radebaugh, keys; Chuck Easton, guitar; Elaine Gardner Morales, bass; Tom Svornich, drums; and special guest Rob Green.

This band recently played at the Dungeness Crab Festival and they’re all fired up for tonight’s dance concert, playing swing, Latin and some 1970s-style fusion.

“It’s always a hustle as a musician, wherever you are,” said Lenke. “The are a lot of us out there, so much great talent, and it’s hard to start over no matter what your profession is. The music scene if very different here, but delightful, and I am grateful to be able to play with such wonderful musicians and so pleased that they have welcomed me into this community.”
