Cyber games night Friday at Peninsula College

PORT ANGELES — Peninsula College will host Cyber Games Family Night at 5 p.m. Friday.

The free technology event is at Keegan Hall at the college’s Port Angeles campus, 1502 E Lauridsen Blvd. Attendees will be able to play games, explore esports and learn about careers in tech and cybersecurity.

Participants can enjoy food and explore information booths from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

At 6 p.m., until 7 p.m., there will be activity sessions including an esports demo, video gaming, Turing Tumble for third-grade and up, Storytime STEM for Pre-K through second grade, hands-on security fundamentals, exploring encryption, working with parental controls and exploring careers and skills in cybersecurity.

The activity sessions will run concurrently.

The evening will close with an Ask-Me-Anything panel composed of instructors, experts and former students.

Experts in cybersecurity, data science, software development, video gaming and tech careers will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions.
