Cooksey Gallery to host reception for ‘Life Force’ exhibit

PORT ANGELES — The Cooksey Gallery will host a reception for “Life Force” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The free reception will be in the gallery at Field Arts & Events Hall, 201 E. Front St., Port Angeles.

The exhibit will feature paintings by Port Townsend artists Carolyn Heryford Watts and Tracy Grisman.

The show will provide a posthumous look at Watts’ designs of shape and color inspired by years spent walking beaches and looking through a microscope in the lab at Providence Hospital in Seattle.

Watts’ work is juxtaposed with Grisman’s depictions of musicians from years of connecting through music while caring for others as a registered nurse.

The Port Townsend-based Hot Club, featuring Bobbi Nikles on violin, Jessica Logan on guitar and Grisman on bass, will perform jazz manouche during the reception.

“Life Force” will be on display in the Cooksey Gallery from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays until April 6.

Private tours may be requested by emailing gallery@fieldhallevents.org.
