Cincinnati Boys Choir will perform in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — The Cincinnati Boys Choir will perform at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Choral music from Bach and Mozart to gospel and spirituals will be heard at the concert at the church at 301 E. Lopez Ave.

Admission is by a suggested donation of $15.

“The Cincinnati Boy Choir is one of the premiere professional boy choirs in the United States, maintaining a world-class performance level and the highest quality music education,” organizers said.

Located in the urban arts core of Cincinnati at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, the Boy Choir reaches about 300 young men each year from more than 100 schools in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Since 1965, members of the Cincinnati Boy Choir attend weekly rehearsals, retreats, music theory classes and the annual SongFest Summer Music Camp for Boys at Xavier University.

Each year, the Boy Choir presents about 30 performances in the Greater Cincinnati region. The choir has performed concerts and completed residencies both at home and abroad, most recently, appearing n stages in the United Kingdom and the east coast of Australia.

The Cincinnati Boy Choir will be in Port Angeles as part of its 2017 concert tour of the Pacific Northwest.
