PORT TOWNSEND — The two women of “Elemental,” the art exhibition at Northwind Art’s Jeanette Best Gallery, will give a free public talk at 6 p.m. Thursday, surrounded by their artwork.
Jeanne Toal, a painter who lives and works in Port Townsend, and Jan Hoy, a Whidbey Island-based sculptor, pair their work in “Elemental.” The show is a mix of 35 pieces: earthy colors, curves and clouds rendered in paint, from Toal’s “Sea Light” image to Hoy’s “Continuous Rhythm” sculpture.
In this artists’ talk, Toal and Hoy will discuss the creative process behind their work.
It will be a conversation-style format — much better for spontaneous discussion — at the gallery, 701 Water St. As always in this venue, the art-curious are encouraged to bring their questions.
“Elemental” is on view through Nov. 18 at Jeanette Best Gallery, which is open from noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays. The gallery also features the Showcase 2024 exhibition of local artists working in many media; that show runs through Dec. 31.
