Port Angeles man charged with vehicular homicide

PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man has been charged with vehicular homicide following a fatal head-on collision in Sequim last week.

Driver John Ronald Sutton, 25, of Port Angeles, was charged with the Class A felony when he appeared in Clallam County Superior Court on Monday.

Driver Lou M. Galgano, 27, of Port Angeles died following the crash on U.S. Highway 101 east of River Road at about 4:45 p.m. May 29.

Court records said Sutton registered a 0.124 on a portable breathalyzer test 84 minutes after the crash.

Records said Sutton told law enforcement that he had taken DayQuil at 8 the morning of the wreck and that he had not consumed any alcohol following the wreck.

Sutton posted $25,000 bond Friday and has been ordered to wear a device that monitors his alcohol consumption.

He also cannot drive unless the vehicle has a breathalyzer interlock device.

Sutton is scheduled for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. June 14.
