Man arrested in child porn investigation

PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles transient man was arrested in west Jefferson County on Tuesday for investigation of possession of child pornography.

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office developed probable cause to arrest Samuel W. Cocke, 58, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said on its Facebook page.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office asked for help in finding Cocke on Tuesday morning, and by the afternoon, he was arrested in the Hoh River area. The plan was for him to be transported to Grays Harbor to face the charges, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

Cocke is a known panhandler in Port Angeles, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

“The public’s assistance in providing information to law enforcement is vital to our goal of making our community a safe place to live,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
