Man arrested after three-hour standoff in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — City police arrested a man on a felony warrant Wednesday after he had barricaded himself in a west Port Angeles residence.

Keizer Lee Brown, 39, was booked into the Clallam County jail after the three-hour standoff on the 1600 block of West Seventh Street, Deputy Police Chief Jason Viada said.

The no-bail warrant was tied to a domestic violence case, Viada said.

Police formed a perimeter around the house near the corner of West Seventh and K streets as negotiators established communication with Brown.

“The negotiators were able to convince him to peacefully submit to arrest,” Viada said.

Brown surrendered at about 4:15 p.m.

The three-hour incident required a significant police presence and caused other calls for service in the city to back up, Viada said.

During the standoff, police advised the public to avoid the area in a Facebook post.

Brown was booked into the Clallam County jail at 4:40 p.m.
